Bei Mysimba® handelt es sich um die Kombination eines amphetaminartigen Antidepressivums mit einem Wirkstoff aus dem Drogenentzug.
Es sind Retardtabletten, die jeweils die Kombination von 8 mg Naltrexon-Hydrochlorid und 90 mg Bupropion-Hydrochlorid enthalten.

Die Dosis wird von einer Tablette täglich über 4 Wochen schrittweise auf die Erhaltungsdosis von zweimal täglich zwei Tabletten gesteigert.
Anschließend ist die Anwendung von Mysimba® als langfristige Dauereinnahme konzipiert.
